LEGO Robotics: Learn Through Play (6 - 8yrs) at Broxburn - Strathbrock Community Centre, Broxburn. Duration: 3 blocks per year (one block per school term) Skills Required: No previous experience required. Type of Coding: Beginner-friendly block-based coding. Reading & Writing Ability: Children should be able to follow visual building instructions and simple demonstrations. Strong reading and writing skills are not required for this course. This fun and engaging course introduces young learners to robotics, coding and engineering using LEGO and other compatible construction systems. Children will build moving models, explore motors, sensors and simple coding, create radio-controlled brick models, and develop interactive projects through hands-on play and experimentation. Alongside structured activities, learners are encouraged to use their imagination to design and build their own creations, developing creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and confidence with technology. As children grow in confidence and capability, typically from age 8 onwards, they may progress to our Robotics Explorers with micro:bit & 123Robot®. This provides a natural pathway into more advanced coding, robotics, artificial intelligence and physical computing projects. The course is delivered across three blocks, with one block running each school term, allowing learners to build their skills progressively throughout the year. In Term 3 (May or June 2027), learners will have the opportunity to create and showcase their projects at our Family Tech Day and participate in the 123Robot® Competition, celebrating their achievements with family and friends. Don’t Forget the Sibling Discount: Enjoy a 15% discount automatically applied to each additional child when siblings are booked together in the same order. Please note: Sibling discounts will not apply if bookings are made in separate orders. FINANCIAL SUPPORT As a social enterprise, we do our best to support talented and motivated young people who may not otherwise be able to afford our course fees.
