Grade 1 Modern (6 - 7yrs) at Footlights Studios, Bristol. Grade 1 Modern: At this level, dancers begin to build on the basics of modern technique with more structured exercises. The class focuses on posture, balance, and controlled movements. Students are introduced to simple routines that improve their coordination, timing, and rhythm, allowing them to express themselves through dynamic and creative movements. In Grade 2 Modern, dancers expand their technique by incorporating more complex footwork and body movements. They continue developing strength, flexibility, and musical interpretation. The class focuses on mastering movement sequences, introducing turns, and beginning to link steps together more smoothly, which enhances their dance vocabulary. Both classes work towards ISTD examinations

Grade 5 Modern This class focuses on more advanced technical exercises and routines that require strong coordination, control, and performance skills. Dancers are introduced to more challenging movements, including complex turns, jumps, and intricate rhythmic patterns. There is also a greater emphasis on interpretation, allowing dancers to develop their artistry alongside technique. Both classes work towards ISTD examinations.
