Somerset State Basketball Club (Yr3/4/5) - Midsomer Norton (7 - 10yrs) at Norton Hill School, Sports Hall, Midsomer Norton. This basketball class is specially designed for our youngest ballers, providing the perfect introduction to the game in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. Delivered by qualified basketball coaches and inspiring role models, these sessions lay the foundation for confident, skilled, and intelligent play. Following our evolutionary basketball curriculum which changes termly, players progress step by step through essential skills—from mastering technical dribbling and the triple threat position, to developing tactical understanding such as off-the-ball movement and supportive team play. Every session is focused on building coordination, teamwork, and game awareness, while keeping the energy high and the learning engaging. It’s the perfect place for young players to fall in love with basketball and begin their learning journey with Somerset State.

Our Year 6 and 7 basketball class is designed for those just getting into the sport and those who are developing players ready to take their game to the next level. Led by qualified Somerset State coaches and exceptional role models, these sessions challenge athletes to refine their technical skills while introducing more advanced tactical concepts. Working through our evolutionary basketball curriculum, players continue to sharpen fundamentals like dynamic dribbling, footwork, and shooting, while also building a deeper understanding of the game through structured offensive and defensive principles. From reading the game and creating space off the ball, to making smart passing decisions and supporting teammates in transition, this class pushes players to think and play like true basketballers. These high-energy sessions are the ideal environment for aspiring athletes who want to grow in skill, confidence, and game IQ—all while having fun and being part of a supportive team culture.

Somerset State Basketball Club (Yr10/11/12) - Midsomer Norton (14 - 17yrs) at Norton Hill School, Sports Hall, Midsomer Norton. Our players develop all areas of their game whilst following our evolutionary basketball curriculum, from their Technical dribbling and triple thread to their Tactical off the ball supportive movements. Our teams play games against other local clubs alongside attending intra club Somerset State games and tournaments due to our numerous coaching centres around Somerset.
