Purple Mash: Mash It Up! 👾 (5 - 7yrs) at Richmond House School, Leeds.
Children will explore the exciting world of digital creativity and computing through our Mash It Up! course. Using the Purple Mash platform, they will develop their keyboard and typing skills, create colourful digital artwork, design simple computer games, and bring their ideas to life with fun animations. Along the way, they will explore age-appropriate coding activities, learn how to use a range of digital tools confidently, and develop important problem-solving and logical thinking skills. Every session is packed with engaging, hands-on activities that encourage creativity, independence, and a lifelong love of technology.
Computing Through Minecraft 🧱💻 (7 - 9yrs) at Richmond House School, Leeds.
Our Computing Through Minecraft course takes children on an exciting journey through specially designed educational Minecraft worlds, where they'll explore the foundations of computer science in a fun and engaging way. Through interactive challenges, they'll experiment with coding, discover the basics of game design, learn about artificial intelligence, and develop the knowledge and skills needed to stay safe online. Alongside these guided learning adventures, children will take part in a weekly build challenge, giving them the opportunity to unleash their creativity, solve problems, and showcase their building skills in the world of Minecraft.
Arcade Game Studio 🎮 (9 - 11yrs) at Richmond House School, Leeds.
Our Arcade Game Studio course gives children the opportunity to design, build and play their own computer games while developing real coding skills. Using Microsoft's MakeCode Arcade platform, they'll create exciting digital games using block-based coding, with the opportunity to explore JavaScript and Python as their confidence grows. Through engaging skill maps, children will develop an understanding of key programming concepts including variables, logic, loops and game design fundamentals. From action-packed platformers to challenging mazes and multiplayer adventures, every project encourages creativity, problem-solving and computational thinking. Children will also create their own multiplayer games, allowing them to play and test their creations together safely within a secure learning environment.
