Computing Club - Digital Game Design (2 parts) (8 - 11yrs) at Whitings Hill Primary School, Barnet.
Does your child dream of creating their own video game? In this exciting game design club, children will bring their imagination to life as they design and build their very own "top-down" role-playing (RPG) adventure from the ground up. Using Bloxels, children will become game designers, storytellers, and world builders as they create immersive environments, design unique characters, write interactive dialogue for non-player characters (NPCs), and develop clever puzzles and quests for players to solve. Throughout this course, they'll discover what makes a great game by exploring the fundamentals of game design, storytelling, level creation, and player experience. Every decision they make helps shape a world that is entirely their own, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving along the way. As their skills grow, children will combine their ideas into a fully playable game that they can explore, enjoy, and proudly share with family and friends. This course is part of a flexible, progressive learning programme, with each module introducing exciting new skills and challenges. Every module can be enjoyed as a standalone experience, making it ideal for children joining at any stage, while those who continue through multiple modules will steadily expand their knowledge and create increasingly ambitious and sophisticated games. Whether your child loves gaming, storytelling, art, or technology, this club provides the perfect opportunity to turn their ideas into interactive adventures while developing creativity, logical thinking, and digital design skills in a fun and supportive environment.
